Sort of like a magic ladder in the floor that leads to a sea of tears. Strained simile, perhaps, but I'll take it. I like Max's intrusion onto Kelly's flashback. Reminds me of the very end of <i>Brazil</i>, when the floating head of Michael Palin intrudes onto Sam's happy little psychotic break. Hey, I don't have to sign these anymore. There's a switch.
